Metro United Methodist Urban Ministry

Metro is the Fathers & Families Coalition of San Diego and a current provider of multiple services for fathers under the leadership of their CEO, John Hughes, MSW.

Affiliate Vision: Overcoming poverty, strengthening families, building communities.  A strong factor in Metro's vision is in promoting a replicable responsible fatherhood program model within ethnically diverse, low income communities and contribute resources and knowledge to the field of responsible fatherhood education and support.

Affiliate Mission: Metro is a faith based organization committed to empowering low income individuals, families and communities to overcome poverty and to achieve self sufficiency through employment, education, social services and leadership development. As part of this mission, Metro will promote the values of responsible fatherhood and the importance of fathers in the lives of children and as contributing members of families will be recognized, celebrated, and honored.  Fathers will be equipped with the tools they need to develop nurturing, healthy, non-violent relationships with their children and as viable members of their families.
